Mr Smith Creative is a small business built on a simple principle, ‘Concept and Craft’. We believe both are essential to produce great creative work. But crucially, concept must lead. Craft gives ideas shape, character and clarity.

We work with brands and businesses of all sizes, from sole traders to nationwide banks. We have helped charities, social enterprises, corporate brands and everything in between tell their stories in ways that feel clear, confident and human.

With over 20 years of experience in the design and advertising industry, and nine years running Mr Smith Creative, we have built strong relationships through creative direction, project management and design services.

We create and refresh brand identities, craft campaigns, lead workshops and provide creative consultancy when an outside point of view matters. Our process is straightforward, collaborative and built around good communication.

Awards have followed over the years, but long term relationships matter more. We want to work with people who care about what they do and want to communicate it well.

Transparency.

We are clear about every project. How long it will take, who will be involved, and the approach we plan to take. If something is not the best use of your budget, we will say so and suggest a better option.


Trusting instinct.

Over 20 years of experience has shaped a strong sense of what works and what does not. We trust that instinct, using judgement to guide decisions and support our work.


Good surprises.

Surprises can be a mixed bag. We prefer the good kind, so we stay realistic and never overpromise. We aim to deliver what we said we would, but we might just surprise you.


What’s the point if it’s not fun?

We are life-long creatives. It’s all we have ever wanted to do, because we love it! We feel that comes through in the work. Playfulness makes creative work more effective and more engaging.


Keep an open mind.

We are open to ideas from anyone and anywhere. Everybody is creative, and the best idea is always the one worth backing. We care less about where an idea comes from and more about where it can go. Collaboration often makes the work stronger.


We don’t follow trends.

Trends move quickly. Strong ideas tend to last longer. Every brand, message and story deserves its own way of being expressed, so we let the idea lead and allow style to follow.
